Walk before me and be perfect

Genesis 15:1-3
“After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. 2And Abram said, LORD God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? 3And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.”

When you closely look at the relationship between father Abraham and God, you will discover that something is constant; and that thing is communication.
There was constant communication.
The journey of Abraham and God did not lack communication.
However, communication is lacking in the relationship of most us with God today.
Most of us are worshiping God that does not communicate with us.

One thing that is common with Christians of this generation is that we murmur in stead of communicate with God.
God hates murmuring and complains but that is what we do.
Murmuring does not indicate we understand the God we serve.
Murmuring does not show a healthy relationship.

Because Abraham communicates with God and does not walk in darkness, he enjoyed the best in his relationship with God.
It does not mean Abraham does not have problem in his life.
When God spoke to Abraham that he is his reward, Abraham told God the thing worrying him.
God can see what is worrying us and he knows our prayer that he has not yet answered.
But there is no place in the Bible that Abraham was murmuring against God.
God reassured Abraham in Genesis 15:4 “This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.”

The journey continued and Abraham did not stop obeying God.
Father Abraham kept reminding God in prayer and in Genesis 17:1 God appeared to Abraham and said to him, “I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.”

God spoke to Abraham after Abraham reminded him of his condition.
God’s answer was, “walk before me and be perfect”.
This is evidence of the fact that God knows what is going on in our lives.
God knows our problems and our desires.
If what you desire is part of the promise of God, you shall have.
The promise of God is sure. It is something God has programmed before you were born and he has the power to fulfill it.

What is the burden in your life?
What is the problem?
What is the promise that has not yet been fulfilled?
In this year, there is something that God requires from you.
“Walk before me and be perfect”.
Check your relationship with God.
If it is not perfect, work on it.

Which area of your walk with God you need to work on to be perfect?

1. The area of communication. This is by Bible studies.
Have time for personal Bible studies this year this year.
The Bible says, “… faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17.
It is the word of God that brings faith and it is our faith that moves the hand of God.
When our actions do not follow the word of God, we will be living a life of illusion.
You will be living a life of doubt, confusion and fear.
Without the word of God you cannot communicate with God and you cannot receive from God.

2. Your quiet time.
This means to meditate on the word of God.
To meditate means to think deep on the word of God.
It is this time that many people hear from God, and receive revelation.
Walking with God without communication is walking in darkness.

3. By obeying his commandment.
Whatsoever he wants us to do, let us make it our priority.
Let it be our priority to walk with obedience this year.

4. Worship God in holiness and his righteousness.
Don’t worship God in your own terms. But worship God in his own terms.
You cannot worship God in your own terms and please God.
Don’t give a sacrifice that God will not accept.
Don’t give praises that will not be accepted.
Don’t say prayers that God will not accept.

This year is our year of supernatural ease and double honor.
For you to enjoy supernatural ease this year, walk with God and be perfect.
Work very hard to please God.
Brethren, this is the call of God unto you.
The hand of God is not short that it cannot deliver and bless us.
His ear is not heavy that it cannot hear us.
When you please God, God will please you.
Walk before God this year and be perfect.
Those who are not walking according to the commandment of God cannot be perfect.
